First Bank of Wheels vehicle inaugurated in the district.

To reach the farmers and other people in remote areas of the state the Koraput Central Cooperative bank today launched 'Bank of Wheels' scheme in the district. District Collector Ms.Rashmita Panda, flagged off the 'Bank on Wheels' vehicle starting their journey to remote and tribal dominated blocks of the district. The 'Bank on Wheel' by the KCC is the first of its kind facility in the district.

The Bank on Wheel unit would go to the blocks where there have been no banking facilities. There  would have facilities like ATM, information kiosk and full-fledged branch for providing financial inclusion service to the farmers said Prasana Kumar Swain, Secretary of KCC Bank.

Block Level Mondei Fest from Jan 12th

Mondei, the annual cultural extravaganzathat showcases Nabarangpur’s rich cultural heritage,  will begin in January 12th of 2016 from Parua village under Raighar Block.The block level celebration will go on till January 18th of 2016. The district-level mega festival would be held for three days from 19th to 21 and for the first time  two days from 22nd to 23rd Deshia Nataka will be staged at the Mondei ground besides a five-day Pallishree Mela, said Collector Rashmita Panda,while presiding over the preparatory meeting held at Ashok Meheta conference hall here on Wednesday.


Various competitions Manch Natak Mahotsav’, ‘Kavi Sammelan’,baby health show, quiz and dance competitions will be organised. In the meeting  MLAs Manohar Randhari, Bhujabala Majhi, Zilla Parisad President Motiram Nayak, PDDRDA Pooma Tudu, DFO Swayam Mallik, PAITDA
Narayan Murmu, sub-Collector Gavali Parag Harshad, along with the district level officials, Media persons, and distinguished persons present at the meeting.

Anwesha for Tribal Kids launched at Nabarangpur

Urban education programme ANWESHA for tribal kids of the district was inaugurated at the conference hall of Zilla Parisad, Nabarangpur. Collector Ms.Rasmita Panda, who was the chief guest launched the programme and distributed schoolbags to the students. 



Under the programme the Govt would bear all expenses for education of the students under Anwesha. The expenses for fees, uniform, books, hostel accommodation as well transportation will be sponsored by the Govt. at-present 137 students enrolled in Nabarangpur and Umerkote English schools said Pabitra Pradhan, DWO of Nabarangpur. Among others PAITDA Narayan Murmu, Principals and staffs of various English schools were present.
