Indravati project to help irrigate 15,000 hectares in Nabarangpur.


The State Government has prepared a plan of action to expedite the construction work of the Indravati project to provide irrigation to Nabarangpur district.

According to official sources, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik who reviewed the implementation of various irrigation projects in Nabarangpur district, asked concerned officials to expedite the work to complete the projects in time.

According to sources, an estimated 15,000 hectares of agricultural land would be irrigated under the Indravati Irrigation Project. The survey works of the project is under process. Besides, steps have been taken to provide irrigation to 1,489 hectares of land by constructing check dams across river Indravati.

Sources said it was decided to construct four dams at Tokiguda, Bhitiribada, Miniguda and Bangalaguda. Besides, irrigation to 4,080 hectares would be provided by setting up four mega lift points at Nuagaan, Paraajaminiguda, Dahivat, and Ekamba.

Consumer awareness workshop held at Nabarangpur.

The consumer counseling center of district consumer court Nabarangpur  organised a consumer awareness workshoCp at court hall here on Wednesday.
District Consumer Court president, who is also chief guest Laxmi Narayan Padhy inaugurated the workshop, while  information officer Mr. Boolu Hota, hosted the meeting and said the rural consumers are not aware of their rights it is high time for the NGOs to create  greater awareness among the rural public of their rights as consumers.
Senior Advocate N.Ahmed, spoke about consumer protection law while DCDRF President Mr. Padhy elaborated consumer rights and duties, the consumer disputes and solutions during the awareness workshop. The participants for the workshop were being drawn from different sections of society such as representatives of NGOs, women organisations, media and government officials.
Among others DCDRF member Aswani Mohapatra, Pravati Mishra, DCPC members present at the meeting.


World Breastfeeding Week Celebrated at Nabarangpur.

District level celebration of World Breastfeeding Week at Nabarangpur held today. Collector Ms.Yamini Sarangi, flagged off the really in front of Sub-Collector office, among other DSWO Kananbala Dash, Sub-collector Suman Behera, CDPOs, supervisors, and anganwadi workers present at the really. 

To mark the eve meeting was organised at the Nabarangpur block office conference hall. Chief Guest Sub-Collector, Mr.Behera said that “Maa KIra re Adika Dam” Bottle Kira re Ahika Kam “‘. It Is a high time to every Person along with To every Mother to ensure and promote breastfeeding within one hour of child birth, exclusive breastfeeding till six months and breastfeeding with supplementary nutrition till two years of age is extremely vital for a child to grow properly’

Orissa Freedom Fighters Felicitated by Principal Resident Commissioner at New Delhi


New Delhi:Principal  Resident Commissioner of Government of Odisha at New Delhi Mr. Sunil Kumar Bhargava, felicitated the Freedom Fighters from Odisha invited to the “At Home” reception hosted by Her Excellency  President of India, today.
Freedom Fighters from all over the country are invited by H.E. President of India to Rastrapati Bhawan on 9th August to commemorate the Quit India Movement anniversary of Indian Freedom Struggle. Principal Resident Commissioner, Shri Bhargava presented Uttariyas and Flower Bonquents to the  five Freedom Fighters, Shri Md.Bazi of Nabarangpur, Shri Braja Kishore Rout of Kamarbandha (Bhadrak), Shri Krupasindhu Barad of Barang Gadia ( Nayagarh), Shri Bamana Charan Swain of Berakoi (Puri) and Shri Gandharba Acharya of Sanara (Jagatsinghpur). The Freedom Fighters recalled and shared their experience of Freedom Struggle with the gathering in a Ceremony at held Odisha Niwas. Odisha Government has made all arrangement for the stay, local visit etc of the Freedom Fighters at Odisha Niwas, New Delhi.
Special Resident Commissioner, Shri Vipin Saxena, IAS, Additional Resident Commissioner, Shri S.K. Ratho, IFS, Officer on Special Duty, Dr. Tribikram Pradhan, Smt Sucharita Sarangi and officials of Odisha Bhawan and Odisha Niwas were present in the function.

ODISHA CM NAVEEN PATNAIK TO EXPAND MINISTRY TODAY SWEARING IN CEREMONY TO AT RAJ BHAWAN .

Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik to expand ministry today. This is informed by the state parliamentary affairs ministry.

As per the report the swearing in ceremony will be held 2.15 pm at Raj Bhawan. Sources said Chief Minister Patnaik called on few MLAs who will be inducted to ministry. With five of the 21 ministerial berths vacant in Odisha following dismissal of three rebels after a failed coup bid and two resigning earlier, chief minister to induct his staunch loyalists today. As per the report he will sack three ministers today before the oath taking ceremony.

CM Patnaik reportedly invited senior BJD leader Dr. Damodar Rout, AU Singhdeo, Bijoyshree Routray, Kalpataru Das, Jina Hikaka, Sarojini Hembrum to join the ministry.

Senior leaders in the race for a ministerial berth were former ministers A U Singhdeo, Damodar Rout, Bijayshree Routray, Debashish Nayak, Rabi Narayan Nanda, Kalandi Behera, Bed Prakash Agarwal, Bishnu Das, Padmanabha Behera and Pramila Mallick. Dharmasala MLA Kalpataru Das, Arun Sahu, Sanjay Dasburma, Debashis Samantray, Ashok Panda and Sipra Mallick were also in the race.

New Nabarangpur Collector assumes office.


Ms.Yamini Sarangi, IAS assumed charge as the new Collector of Nabarangpur district here on Wednesday. The ADM Suradev Sahu, Sub-Collector, Suman Behera, PDDRDA, James Eaka, PAITDA, Paul Eaka, and officials received the new Collector at the Collectorate and Ms.Sarangi took over charge from ADM at 10.30 AM. Talking to media persons she urged all cooperation of people and officials.

Balasore based Ms.Yamini Sarangi  after schooling from Kendriya Vidyala and Sardar Patel Vidyala, New Delhi, did BE (civil) from the Delhi College of Engineering worked for 6 years in the IT sector 1 year at Infosys and 5 years at SAP Bangalore before joining the IAS in 2008.

She has trained and served as BDO at Mayurbhanj,  Tahasildar at Baliguda, Sub-collector, and PDDRDA at Gajpati district
