The Higher Education Department has sanctioned Rs 15.54 crore towards payment of the arrear GIA (Grant-in-Aid) salaries in favour of 144 teaching and nonteaching employees of non-Government aided colleges. It is ascertained from the departmental sources that the lists of teachers and employees of different colleges have been prepared for payment of the arrear claims on the basis of orders of the Odisha High Court and the Supreme Court in similar cases.
The sources further said that a second list for the arrear GIA salary payment is going to be prepared very soon after proper scrutiny of the staffs’ claims.
