STATE PLANS BIJU YUVA SASHAKTIKARAN YOJANA

The State Government is planning to launch a Biju Yuva Sashaktikaran Yojana an internship programme for youths.
Official sources said nine departments of the Government would implement the scheme. In the first phase, the interns would be engaged in the Departments of Agriculture, Forest and Environment, Health and Family Welfare, Housing and Urban Development, Panchayati Raj, School and Mass Education, Scheduled Tribes and Scheduled Castes Development and Women and Child Welfare.
The interns would be engaged for promoting awareness on various development and welfare schemes and programmes of the Government and assisting in field-level implementation.
The interns would be selected from among the rural youths in the age group of 18 to 25 with a minimum qualification of Plus Two. At least 15 eligible youths would be selected from each of the State’s 314 blocks for the training-cum-exposure programme.
The candidates would have to apply for the internship programme to the Sports and Youth Services Department, the nodal department for the scheme, indicating the department in which they prefer to work. 
An intern selected for the programme would get a stipend of Rs`1,500 per month for two to six months. The Government has decided to provide training to 5,000 youths.
