Mondei the cultural festival of Nabarangpur was
inaugurated from Raighar after performing a special puja in the Parua Siva
shrine on Tuesday. Nabarangpur collector Ms.Rashmita Panda, with Nabarangpur
MLA Manohar Randhari, Umerkote MLA Subash Gond, , PDDRDA Dr.Poma Tudu, Sub-collector
Gavili Parag Harsad, lighted the symbolic torch to mark the occasion. Marking
the occasion a procession was brought out “Mondei Mashal” coupled with tribal
folk dances and music from shiva shrine to the Panchayat Ground.
Speaking in gondi language Umerkote MLA Subash Gond, said that the festival
provides a platform for local artists to showcase talent also providing
informations on various government programmes. He demanded to develop Parua shiva shrine into eco
tourist place.
Presiding over the meeting Ms. Rashmita Panda, said it is
an occasion to bring to the notice of others, besides developmental activities,
the traditional art, music and cultural activities. This year the tag line of
Mondei poster is the new hopes new dreams” the district administration
providing all platforms to the students to achieve their goals. Through their
efforts they can achieve their own as well as villages development and from
village to Block and district as a whole. For the first time this year 14 MT
maize procured from Raighar and Umerkote blocks.
PDDRDA Dr.Tudu, said through Mondei the district
administration create awareness about the different government schemes
demonstration stalls are set up to display the schematic benefits and
disseminate information and the services provided by different line
departments. It is an opportunity for the cottage and rural industries to
display their products at a Handicrafts exhibition.
