Bhubaneswar: Senior Congress leader and former Bramhagiri MLA Lulu Mohapatra on Monday has demanded judicial inquiry into the unearth and seizure of hand bombs and dynamites in Bramhagiri area under Puri district that claimed the life of constable Ranjan Kumar Sarangi last night. Stating ruling BJD’s hand behind the sophisticated and imported grenades, Mohapatra said the inquiry would reveal the source of these life-taking weapons.
Reacting to Mohapatra’s remarks, Bramhagiri MLA Sanjay Dasburma said role of the real persons behind the current scenario could be known if information from ground-zero level were collected. Welcoming any inquiry into the matter Dasburma said it was also the responsibility of the opposition party to help pacify the current situation.
On Sunday police seized more than 50 hand bombs and 12 dynamites from a hut in Bramhagiri. While defusing the bombs, district bomb disposal squad constable Ranjan Kumar Sarangi was severely injured including five others and shifted to Puri district hospital, where he breathed his last. The police department has announced Rs4 lakh compensation for the deceased and a job to the next of kin of Sarangi.
