The Koraput Court paralysed by lawyers' strike on today. The lawyer's locked the main gate of the SDJM Court against alleged use of excessive force in the court premises on Yesterday.
The lawyer's alleged that the Inspector in-charge of Koraput Town Police station had blocked the movement of the lawyers in the court room during the production of Prasant Das,MD Seashore on the alleged Chit-funds fraud case yesterday. The Court hall which is public property and can the public view but the IIC of Koraput Police station, restrained all by engaging large number of police force by abuse and violation of individual freedom of expression, freedom of professional liberty and the right of lawyers’ right to practice which is also a criminal offence under the court of law.
The Bar association in a meeting condemned the police excess in the court premises on yesterday and demanded for an unconditional apology from the IIC with in 24 hours, also transfer of the Inspector immediately the association would not tolerate the incident failing which they have warned to go on Koraput Bandh, and other forms of agitation.
Today many Litigants who have no knowledge about the incident and protesting suffered as proceedings in Court remained paralysed. Soon after the incident in afternoon the Inspector in-charge of police station, apolgised before the Bar Association. The President of Bar Nihar Ranjan Patnaik, said as we are observing a one day strike further decision would be taken after the apology letter will placed in the general body meeting of the association he said .
