Tribal Body Organised a rally With Traditional weapons at Nabarangpur.

A Tribal body under the banner of Janajati surakhya Mancha,(JSM) organised a rally in Nabarangpur on Wednesday afternoon on a charter of demands. Nearly 10,000 tribals mostly women and youths brandishing axe, lathis and their traditional weapon took out the rally from Chamuriaguda to Collectorate carrying posters and banners, later submitted charter of demands to Sub-Collector, Suman Behera.
The JSM, express their dissatisfaction over non-tribal persons fraudulently obtaining the Schedule Tribe certificates to take advantage of the quota system.  The body has demanded that issuing of fake certificates should be stopped and that fake tribal people in government jobs or in educational institution or in elective posts should be punished. They also demanded for speedy restoration of their rights on land and government to give back the land taken away from the tribal people, and banning sale of country liquor  and illegal manufacturing units of country liquor (Vati) operating at villages in the tribal areas. Local MP, Pradeep Majhi, Former MP, Parshuram Majhi, Former MLA, Sadan Nayak, along with tribal leaders addressed the gathering In front of the collectrate.
